Moon Cake 2024
Once a year, on the 15th day of the eighth month on the lunar calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is celebrated all over Vietnam. The festival is for lunar appreciation and moon watching, when mooncakes are regarded as an indispensable delicacy.
In traditional beliefs, the full moon is the symbol for a family reunion. When people look at the moon, it reminds them of their families and homeland. When somebody lives far way family, this is the best occasion to express their love by sending mooncake to family.
Mooncakes are also offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important Vietnam festivals.
